LAKE ALMANOR, CA
One week each summer I hold a workshop at home to share our Lake Almanor “secret paradise” with other painters! "The Abstract Nature of Nature" is making stronger and more personal
paintings based on design, and on the underlying abstraction found in all of nature. This has been one of the themes of my Lake Almanor workshops for the past several years. This workshop includes studio instruction and painting, as well as the opportunity for some “on location” sketching and or painting. Local subjects may include: trees and
summer wildflowers, lake vistas, streams, mountains, volcanic formations, and active thermal areas. Other subjects are from your own resource photos and sketches. One day is an outing and picnic lunch to Lassen National Park. Lake Almanor is in the Northern California Mountains where the Sierra and the Cascade Ranges come together. It is located 30 miles from Mt. Lassen Volcanic National Park. The elevation at Lake Almanor is 4500’ and the environs are endless breath-taking vistas for the painter. Here are few pictures of the fun we have! |
